How the Brightmoor Church Website Was Built to Work With Their Church Database

As you may know, multiple staff at Dragos Design Creative have been on also worked at various churches so this building this website for Brightmoor Church in Detroit, Michigan was both familiar and exciting. The goal was to create a custom website that is not only visually appealing but also highly functional with their church database. If you’re part of the church world I’m sure you’ve heard of Church Community Builder (CCB) or PushPay. Brightmoor Church wanted a solution that would streamline their operations and improve how they engage with their congregation online. Our goal was to provide an intuitive platform that connects seamlessly with the church’s existing tools (CCB/PushPay) while enhancing the user experience for their members.
Integrating CCB/Pushpay into the Website
One of the core features of the project was integrating Brightmoor’s church database, Church Community Builder (CCB), also known as Pushpay, directly into the website. These tools manage everything from member information to events and small groups, making them essential to the church’s day-to-day activities. Seeing as we’ve worked with these tools at our own churches, we knew bringing these powerful back-end systems to the forefront of the website was essential to allow users to engage effortlessly with the church’s offerings without leaving the site.
This integration involved syncing events, small groups, and form data in real-time, eliminating the need for manual data entry and updating. Whether a visitor is signing up for an event or joining a small group, all the information is captured and reflected in Brightmoor’s church database and vice versa.

- This integration was key to reducing the administrative burden on Brightmoor Church’s staff. By automating tasks that were previously manual, we freed up their time so they could focus more on their ministry and less on data management. From the website, users can:
- Browse upcoming events and sign up directly from the site.
- Browse / join small groups and receive instant confirmations and emails from their leaders.
- Make donations and tithes through the PushPay integration.
- By merging these functionalities, we’ve provided Brightmoor with a central hub where church members can interact with all aspects of church life—whether they’re at the church, home, or on the go.
